More than 30 Palestinian civilians have died in the latest action of the Israeli army in Gaza. In the past few days, Israeli air strikes and ground attacks have hit various parts of Gaza, including schools, hospitals and residential areas. According to the Ministry of Health, more than 82 Palestinian civilians were killed on May 21 alone, while more than 250 were injured.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that Hamas Gaza chief Mohammad Sinwar may have been killed in the recent attacks. He said that thousands of Hamas terrorists have been killed so far under Operation "Gideon's Chariot".
However, this military operation is being criticized internationally. The United Nations and the European Union have expressed concern over the severity of the humanitarian crisis. Countries like France, Canada and Germany have appealed to Israel to stop the attacks and ensure access to humanitarian aid.
The situation in Gaza is extremely serious, where there is a food crisis, medical emergency and destruction of infrastructure. According to the United Nations, hunger and malnutrition in Gaza are becoming severe, and hospitals are under extreme pressure.
Meanwhile, a delegation of 25 diplomats from 31 countries was visiting the West Bank city of Jinin when Israeli troops opened warning fire, sparking international outrage. Israel claimed the delegation had deviated from the approved route, but several countries have termed it "unacceptable".
In view of the conflict situation and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, there is a need for immediate intervention and ceasefire from the international community.
